You need 3 colors needed. A color (the heart), color B (dark), color C (light).

• sl st = slip stitch = l (in the original pattern)
• sc = single crochet = v (in the original pattern)
• dc = double crochet = st (in the original pattern)
• hdc = half double crochet = h.st. (in the original pattern)
• tc = trebble crochet = dubb st (in the original pattern)
• dtc = double trebble crochet = driedubb st (in the original pattern)
• st = stitch

Description:

In color A, chain 5 and join to form a ring.

• 1st row: 12 sc in the ring. Close round with a sl st. Tie off.

Continue with color B.

• 2nd row: Cast on to the ring with color B with a sl st in the back loop of any sc, 1 ch, 1 dc in same loop, ch 4, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in the back loop of the next sc, 4 ch, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in the back loop of the next sc, ch 1. Turn
• 3rd row: 8 dc in the 4-ch loop, 1 sc in the dc, 8 dc in the 4-ch loop, sl st in the ch. Turn.
• 4th row: 1 ch, 1 sc in the first st, (1 sc, 1 hdc) in the next st, (1 hdc, 1 dc.) in the next st, (1 dc, 1 tc) in the next st, 2 tc in each of the next 5 st, ch 3, 1 sc in the sc, ch 3, 2 tc in each of the next 5 st, (1 tc, 1 dc) in the next st, (1 dt, 1 hdc) in the next st, (1 hdc, 1 sc) in the next st, 1 sc in the turning ch of R2. Connect the round with a sl st in the side of the sc in R1. You now have finished the two large rear petals.
• 5th row: Now to the front petals hooks. Working through both loops, 2 dc in the next sc of the ring, 1 sc in the next sc, 2 dc in each of the next 3 sc, 1 sc in the next sc, 2 dc in the next sc, 2 dc in the front loop of the next sc (the same sc where the first large petal starts), 2 dc in the next sc, 1 sc in the front loop of the next sc (the middle of the two large petals), 2 dc in both loops of the next sc, 2 dc in front loop of the next sc. Connect with a sl st in top of 1st st of this round. Tie off. You have now finished the 1st row of the lower left, center and the lower right petals.

Continue with color C. Keep the pansy with the right side facing you. The 6th round starts in the sc between the left and right petals.

• 6th row: Cast in with a sl st in the sc between the lower left and right petals, 1 ch, 1 sc in same st, ch 3, 2 tc in each of the next 2 st, 2 dtc in each of the next 2 st, 2 tc in each of the next 2 st, ch 3, 1 sl st in the sc of the previous row (lower left petal is done). Ch 3, 2 dtc on each of the next 6 st, 3 ch, 1 sl st in the next sc (central petal is done). Ch 3, 2 tc on each of the next 2 st, 2 dtc on each of the next 2 st, 2 tc on each of the next 2 st, 3 ch, 1 sc in the next sc (same st as the beginning of the round, 1 sl st in the first sc of this round (lower right petal). Tie off and weave ends in. Done!
